Martin reviews and experience

Martin U. was very undecided about his future career, as many people are. We talked to Martin about what made him decide to join New Trades Career and take on a career in renewables. Below is Martin’s thoughts and reviews in his own words:

I am presently working as a support staff for Autism and learning disabilities. I have been working as a support worker for years and that is all I have got in terms of work experience. I studied Chemical Engineering as a course in university, I love doing calculations and I found out that the job that I now do is no longer motivating or challenging in regard to what I might want to do for a long-term career.

Based on my little knowledge of engineering, I felt a little unfulfilled in doing my present job as I think I need a bigger challenge outside the health sector. I think the quest to find my path back into the engineering world drove me into searching for a means to develop myself as a practical engineer.
I have been searching for a way to develop myself in doing a practical job which in the future, I can gain what it takes to run my private firm. Based on this quest, I told friends and family and one day my friend told me that there is an apprenticeship in renewable energy that is something that I am interested in doing and said yes. He gave me the number of the guy who helped me enrol in the Renewable Energy Course.

When I came to the practical session I felt that I am on course for something good based on the little skills and knowledge that I have acquired from just a few days in the training centre. My passion is to get the practical skill required to become a Renewable Engineer and also in the near future if everything goes well, I will have experienced, skill and knowledge to run my own company in this course.
