Ron is one of the many students we are extremely proud of, not only does Ron run his own plumbing and renewables business, employing 9 people, but he was also asked to appear on DIY SOS. This is Ron’s new trades career story, in his own words:
In 2013 I was working as a store manager in Aldi but I’d had enough of retail and I wanted to get into a trade. I found an advert on Facebook and set up a meeting. Within 6 months I had completed my plumbing Level 2 and I became self-employed. When I made the decision to become self-employed I was worried about not being able to make a reliable income but within around 6 weeks I was inundated with work. In 2017 I decided to complete a plumbing Level 3 renewables course, by 2018 I had completed my plumbing Level 3 and a number of renewable energy qualifications.
In 2017 when I was half way through my course I received a phone call from DIY SOS and was asked to help out with a project they were doing in my local area which was an amazing experience.
Since completing my Level 3 course I have now expanded and I run my own business with 9 employees. It is thanks to the training I received that I have been able to enjoy these experiences and build my own business. I would highly recommend this training to anybody who is wanting to learn a trade.
